Amman is the third largest governorate in Jordan, with the largest share of the population
representing 42.0% of the total population in the country, and with a population density of
571 individuals per km2. The largest governorates in Jordan are Ma’an, with a population
percentage of 1.70% and a population density of 5.2 individuals per km2, and Mafraq, with
a population percentage of 5.80% and a population density of 22.4 individuals per km2.
